Top 3 Tips To Making Your Holiday Parties At Home Successful With Your Dog

Tips to make sure it's a success for all!

Having lots of people over for the Holidays can cause anyone stress, especially your dog(s)! I have 3 easy tips for keeping your dog(s) happy and calm in your home with all the bustle, but most of all keep you and your guests happy, too.

Make sure you:

  1. Give your dog(s) plenty of exercise before your party, a tired pup is a more behaved pup!

  2. Give them something productive to do. This can mean giving them a  frozen Kong or bully stick to chew on-- keep them busy and their mouths busier!

  3. Be prepared or prevent anything from happening.

    • You can prepare for larger crowds in your home and coming into your "dogs territory" by teaching your dog basic obedience commands such as sit, stay and come.  If your dog doesn’t know these basic commands then you have better control overall.

    • And, to prevent, remember that there is nothing wrong with giving your dog a break from the party by placing them in a separate room and put them into a safe environment (their crate or bed area, for example).

Most importantly, have a great Holiday! If you have any questions, drop us a line any time, night or day.
